OTHER NOTES:
Mosman is the specific subject of a number of Margaret Preston's important prints from the 1920s, and is also the backdrop of other woodcuts of Australian flora and fauna, interiors and harbour views. 'Wooden Bridge, Mosman' is built up of a mosaic clear, bright colour with a daring use of negative space. The delicate black outline of the bridges barriers and the undulating curvature of the foliage overflowing, shows Preston's unerring sense of space at its best.

Other examples of this print are held in the collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; Mosman Art Gallery, Sydney; and National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.
