Tamara Dean, a highly acclaimed artist who operates within the realms of photography, installations, and moving images. Her artistic journey revolves around investigating the contemporary human connection with nature and the significance of rites of passage. In each of Dean's photographic creations, her subjects engage intimately with their natural surroundings, resulting in artworks that silently beckon viewers to reflect. Tamara Dean was the recipient of the Sydney Life photography competition for her photograph 'The Bride' in 2009. 'The Bride' was taken on a windy afternoon, and features her niece being lead by her partner. It was shot on medium format film, using a slow shutter speed to catch the movement of the veil and surroundings.
